The documentary describes the lives of ordinary folks stranded in the epicenter of the coronavirus outbreak. The first episode titled “Lifeline on the wheels” tells the story of volunteer drivers servicing Wuhan’s hospitals. In order to assist the front-line medical staff in their commutes, many taxi drivers in Wuhan have signed up as volunteers.
During the past month, as people stayed home all across China, Bilibili became a hub for all sorts of COVID-19 related content, be it educational or entertaining.
As of now, over 61,000 hours (equivalent to 7 years) of virus-related videos were created by uploaders on Bilibili. Virus-related technical and scientific videos were viewed over 360 million times with over 72 million user interactions.
Music-related videos including online concerts and “cloud clubbing” content were viewed over 400 million times. This included Modern Sky’s “Stay at Home Strawberry” livestreamed music festival, which attracted 1.28 million viewers.
