BYD Revealed the Official Name for Its Pickup Truck
On April 22nd, BYD announced the official name of its first new energy pickup truck: the BYD SHARK. This vehicle is equipped with the DMO (Dual Mode Off-Road) platform, designed specifically for tough off-road adventures, featuring a sturdy trapezoidal frame with a large beam structure.
BYD revealed that they plan to introduce their first electric pickup truck later this year, emphasizing that their medium to full-size pickups are developed for the global market. Previously, BYD shared “official spy photos” of the BYD SHARK, showcasing a sleekly camouflaged body.
The BYD SHARK boasts a straightforward design with a robust body, and its charging/fueling ports on the sides indicate its status as a new energy vehicle. Additionally, the vehicle comes equipped with roof racks, cargo bed features, and sturdy handrails.
According to patent images from the National Intellectual Property Administration, the BYD SHARK features a multi-level front grille, headlights similar to the “Leopard 5” series, and a prominent “BYD” logo rarely seen in previous models. The vehicle’s large bumpers and lower cladding emphasize its rugged appeal.
